Missouri Ganesha Temple

Sri Maha Ganapathi

Ganesha being our pradhana Murthy; our priests perform elaborate Ganesha Abhishekam every Sunday at 10:30 am and during Ganesha alankaram the temple hosts cultural program from 11:00-11:30 am followed by Ganesha Arathi (I forget the Marathi Aarthi song name but its worth to mention that)

Sankatahara Chaturthi

Sankatahara Chaturthi is one of the most auspicious days for performing puja ritual and observing fast for Lord Ganesha. It is typically accompanied each month on the Fourth day of Krishna Paksha (Waning Moon). One can find inside the Hindu lunar calendar two Chaturthi. Tithis; one after Full Moon Day at some stage in Krishna Paksha and one after New Moon Day (Amavasya). The one after Full Moon Day is known as Sankatahara Chaturthi. When it falls on Tuesday it is regarded as Angarakara Sankatahara Chaturthi, a most spiritual day among all Chaturthi days. Sankata means problem and Hara means removing and therefore Sankatahara Chaturthi is a day to invoke Lord Ganesha’s blessings who is the remover of all obstacles.

At the Missouri Ganesha temple we dedicate Sankatahara Chaturthi day to Lord Ganesha and perform very auspicious Maha Ganapathi Abhishekam, Homam and Vratam seeking blessings from Ganesha to remove obstacles from all our devotee’s life.

Modak and other prasadam are offered as Maha Neivedhyam
